Retreat Experiences
The retreats at Saint Francis High School is an integral part of the spiritual development of all Holy Cross students. The retreat program is designed to give students an opportunity to remove themselves from an everyday routine to reflect and pray. Retreats are offered on every level and some are held during the school day, while others occur in the evening or weekend.
The mandatory retreat welcomes the freshman to our Holy Cross family at Saint Francis High School. The day begins on the first Sunday before the start of the school year. The freshmen are welcomed by the Junior and Senior student retreat leaders. The freshmen experience a variety of activities during the day including liturgy, prayer, reflection, discussion and small group activities.
All sophomores will go on this retreat with their Religious Studies class. The sophomore retreat is a service retreat at the Sacred Heart Nativity School in San Jose.
This retreat is an overnight retreat held at the Presentation Center in Los Gatos. The retreat centers on the theme of life journey. It gives the students an opportunity to examine their relationship with self, friends, family and God. Download Junior Retreat Application >
Seniors have the opportunity to go on a senior directed retreat adult led (Senior Silent Directed Retreat) or student led (Holy Cross Retreat). Both retreats are at the Jesuit Retreat House in Los Altos. Both retreats give the students an experience of silence and solitude that enriches the student’s life in a myriad of ways. A Parent-Teen Retreat is a special kind of retreat, which brings together parent-teen couples for a weekend.
